When will my images be displayed on Period Gallery?

All pieces displayed on Period Gallery were submitted and accepted into specific exhibitions. Anyone may submit images for exhibition on Period Gallery by submitting your pieces into an upcoming exhibition. Accepted piece(s) will not be posted online until the debut date listed in the upcoming exhibitions section. Once your piece(s) are online, they will never be taken offline unless you request it.

If I register online as a non-member, will I only pay a one time fee?

Yes. When registering for an event as a non-member you will only pay a one time fee.

Must this fee be paid even if I am not accepted?

Yes. Participants in juried exhibitions are paid for well in advance of the accepted/rejected process.

How does my work sell on the Period Gallery website?

Period Gallery is not an end seller solution. Period Gallery brings the two interested parties together. All buyer inquires are forwarded directly to the artist whom will then facilitate the sale outside the realm of Period Gallery.

Does Period Gallery keep an inventory of artwork?

Period Gallery does not keep an inventory. We act as a broker between the buyer and the seller (artist).

Is it safe to use my credit card on the Period Gallery website?

Period Gallery uses industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption, the most advanced encryption technology available, to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. If I am represented by another gallery or art website, can I still exhibit my work at Period Gallery?

Yes. Period Gallery does not require exclusive representation rights, however, you must inform us when your work is no longer available for purchase.

How can I exhibit my work at Period Gallery?

Does Period Gallery accept applications from international artists?

Yes. Period Gallery exhibits work from artists located anywhere in the world.

Are my images protected when displayed at Period Gallery?

The rights to individual images on the Period Gallery website are those of the artists and are protected by United States and International copyright laws. No artwork may be reproduced in any form or by any means without written permission from the exhibiting artist.

If I enter one of your International Juried Exhibitions am I guaranteed to be accepted?

How are the international exhibitions judged?

Period Gallery uses different guest jurors for each of our international exhibitions. The images are all placed online so the juror can review each piece individually and make their selection. Most of the images are given to Period Gallery as digital JPEGs, however, some are sent as digital TIFFs or 35MM slides. * 35MM slides will not be returned; we recommend submitting using digital files such as JPEGs, TIFFs, etc.

What do I receive if I win one of your international juried exhibitions?

Each year Period Gallery grants artists over US$1000 in cash and prizes. Instead of the traditional method of granting large awards to only a few, we distribute prize money to as many artists as possible. We hope this amount increases as we gain a larger member base.

This award distribution methodology encourages a greater body of artists to do what they do best: craft awe-inspiring creations.

Our international exhibition awards are granted in the following manner. Each work receiving an Award of Excellence receives a $100 cash prize. There are typically between 1 - 2 Awards of Excellence, granted at the discretion of our guest jurors, per exhibition.

We also grant two other resumé building, non-cash awards: a Director's Recognition and a Special Recognition award. These awards are outlined below.

I received an Award of Excellence, Director's Recognition or Special Recognition award. What does this mean?

An Award of Excellence is our top award. These are synonymous with the more familiar "Best of Show" award. An Awards of Excellence, granted by the guest juror, signify work that is outstanding in the exhibition. Each recipient of the Award of Excellence receives a $100 dollar check. This is our only cash prize.

The Director's Recognition award is granted personally by Daniel Castagnoli, Period Gallery's executive director. There are typically one to two Director's Recognition awards per exhibition. Although the gallery director does not grant awards, these are personal favorites and highly recommended.

Special Recognition awards, granted by the guest juror for the event, were works in high contention for our top award, an Award of Excellence.

I can't pay by credit card through your website, can I send you check or money order?

Sure. You can send us a check or a money order, for 4, 6 or 12 month membership dues. We will send you a confirmation email once your membership is activated.

All buyer inquires are forwarded directly to the artist who will facilitate the actual sale. To begin this process click the "I'm interested in this" link under the image and fill out this form.

Period Gallery does not take commissions on pieces sold. Your inquiry will be forwarded directly to the artist where they will follow up with you concerning availability, physical condition, payment options, etc.

What if I am not satisfied with my purchase?

Each artist has their own policy on satisfaction, grace period, and returns. We recommend buyers ask and understand the artist's policies before making any transaction.
